The Power of Customer Avatar in Marketing

How well do we know the right customer for our marketing needs? Marketing without knowing the targeted customer needs is not easy. We need to be aware of the product needed by our customer, their personal needs, likes, finances, and living practices. A Google form allows us to create customer avatar to assess and validate ideal customers for free and it’s an easy and simplest way to collect and develop consumer information in order to be successful in business.

My niche is on-screen promotions/ publicity/ local digital classified related to cinema advertising

I created a buyers persona for my niche –On-screen Advertising

For me, my ideal customer would be someone who wants to promote their business or brand through digital screens.

So, I prepare a list of questions accordingly on Google Doc Forms and send it to my existing customers, friends, acquaintances, family and posted links on social media profiles and request them to fill up the survey questionnaire.

Industry: Advertising

Location: Visakhapatnam

From the survey, I would like to find out the following information about my ideal customer,

· Contact Details

· Gender

· Industry Type

· Preferred Advertising Platform

· Budget Range

· Ideal time to start

· Preferred Screen Time

· Campaign Duration

· Contact preference

And I got responses as survey results, and here I come up with my ideal customer avatar

My ideal customer avatar is Krishna Mohan, a male who is into the Service industry. He preferred to promote his services through Newspapers, Cinema Halls, FM Radio and Digital Marketing in a budget range of Rs. 10,000 for a month with on-screen Advertising and would like to plan to start the campaign when new movies releases, during festive seasons and weekends as he thinks these said time would be the most useful to reach his audience in cinema halls.

Conclusion

The key factor in marketing is to identify and attract the ideal customer by creating a customer avatar. It also helps to understand exactly who is striving to attract.
