Tagline/Subline: Tribute to barbed wire

Connected and related to the Route 66 Museum

Mission: We are a locally ran museum. We have exhibits of History of the Dust Bowl, Barb Wire history, evolution of the Cowboy, Branding and Ranching history, and Exhibit on Old Route 66. Displays include photos, vintage gas pumps, an old wagon, vintage signs, and of course different styles of barbwire and it’s history.”

Reviews:

They mainly have glowing 5-star reviews. All the poor ratings were about their hours.

Three of their 232 Google Reviews:

5 star, 4yrs ago: “Lots to look at and it’s all free. They do have a little souvenir shop and they had really cheap prices compared to other places we saw. Lots of hands on exhibits, good place to check out some history”

5 star, 10mo ago: “I would never have known there was enough history about Barbed Wire to make a museum for it. It also has a Route 66 historical section and a section about the 1900s dust bowl. This place was fascinating and the attendant was super friendly and helpful.”

5 star, 3mo ago: “Excellent roadside attraction. Definitely the best collection of barbed wire I’ve ever seen. And lots more. I give it two thumbs up!!”

Reading Reflection:

Good Branding: Leaf

One of the first companies I thought of when tasked to find good branding was the Leaf razor company. It is a small business whose mission is to make shaving plastic free. Because of this, I think their name fits perfectly with their product. I also enjoy how they present their products with this sage green color connecting to leaves and giving viewers/users a feeling of being “green.” Their name also lends them to have product names that branch off of their company name such as their smaller razor the “twig.” Their logo itself has a simple sans-serif font where the “E” is elongated to mimic a razor blade. It also works due to the fact their main product is an adjustable safety razor with 3 blades.

Bad Branding: KIA
