In the nights of my mind

I often feel our brains have clocks of their own. Time is after all, just the fourth dimension. Whether it really exists, is a question for another time.

In my so many years of existence, I've come to notice that similar to planets in the solar system, our mind experiences seasons. Sunny, Amber, Dark or Fresh. Zoom in, changes in weather can be observed— the overall temperance of our brains. Clear, gloomy, stormy or bright. Increase the magnification a little bit more. Night and Day.

Predominantly the brain clock is in sync with our biological one. Rise and Shine with the sun and tune down with the darkness of the night. Or at least that's what is expected to happen. But as uniquely commonplace as ever, the human mind is still undecipherable in many ways and humans are still a creation of wonder.

In a world resplendent with similarities and contrasts, the brain mimics the certainties and mysteries of the universe itself. We all know our 'Day Brain' pretty well. The one which enables us to navigate the world and accomplish tasks mundane and extraordinary. It is us, alert and conscious, who is the pilot of our mind and hence our lives.

Then there's our 'Night Brain'. This one, we aren't fully aware of. Maybe that's how it's meant to be. It's us in our very raw form, a time when our inner core can surface for some fresh air. The most beautiful aspect of it is its purity and honesty. We may get a chance to encounter this part of us when we are extremely exhausted or sleepy, or when drunk. Also during times of intense emotions of pain or happiness. This part of us can truly create magic. There is a sense of oneness with the universe and its energy. The connection we crave every moment becomes almost palpable.

The magic we feed our soul depends on how we embrace the black and white of our brain along with the many shades of gray. Our life has so much more to it than is visible then and there. It is our duty to live to the fullest and fulfil the heights and depths of our dreams.

Because if our mind can imagine and truly believe in something, we can achieve it without a doubt, by taking the required actions.
